Young Girls were raped, tortured and killed by American soldiers.
The most disgusting part of this event was that the US Government made serious attempts to cover up the atrocities committed by its soldiers.
It has been estimated that about 500 persons were killed.
However, some authorities disagree with this figure. It is estimated that the casualty rate could have been much higher.
