Vesna Vulovic.

On 26th January 1972, a Serbian plane: JAT Flight 367 crashed due to the explosion of a briefcase bomb which had been placed in its baggage compartment.

The plane crashed somewhere in Czechoslovakia.

A woman named Vesna Vulovic was actually a flight attendant on the ill-fated plane.

Vulovic was the only survivor of the crash among 28 passengers and crew.

A villager named Bruno Honke overheard her screaming.

Thankfully, due to the medical training that the villager had received during World War 2, he was able to keep her barely alive until the rescue team arrived.

Vesna Vulovic actually had broken ribs, fractured pelvis, fractured skull and 3 broken vertebrae.

Although she was temporarily paralyzed from her waist down, she later recovered almost completely.

Vulovic spent several days in a coma and remained in hospital for several months.

GUINESS WORLD RECORD:

After the incident, Vulovic was awarded a Guiness world record for “surviving the highest fall without a parachute”.

Apparently, she had fallen from 33,330 feet above sea level and had actually survived.
